Whats New For Fall 2010
Back to 5 on 5 Format on NSD's Large Arena
After the loss of Legacy Arena last Fall, we were forced to downgrade to a smaller facility at NSD. This limited our game to be played 4 on 4 with smaller team sizes for last Fall and Winter seasons. This season, we will be playing at NSD's larger rink (previously used by Soccer) as NSD has removed the turf and made it ready for ball hockey! This floor size is similar to Legacy's size and will allow us to go back to playing 5 on 5 with full team sizes like our Summer program!
More practices, Saturday game times!
Last Fall & Winter we had limited floor times, which only allowed for 10 games and 4 practices per team. This season we will have 10 games and 8 practices each! On top of this, we will no longer be playing our games on Sunday morning, all games will be on Saturday mornings again with the exception of playoffs.
Playoff Tournament Format returns!
Each Spring our playoffs are held over a single weekend in a tournament format with great success. In the past we haven't had the floor time or flexibility to run a tournament-style playoffs in the Fall or Winter seasons. This season we will have this luxury and we look forward to hosting our Fall Playoff Classic this December!
No More Buddy/Carpool Requests
Over the last few seasons it has been increasingly more difficult to accommodate buddy and carpool requests to be placed on specific teams. We have grown so much and after dealing with over 200 requests resulting in dozens of team changes and several schedule re-writes, we have decided to eliminate this option. What this means is WE WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING ANY REQUESTS TO BE PLACED ON A SPECIFIC TEAM DUE TO BUDDYS, CARPOOLING, OR COACH INTERESTS. We realize this may be an inconvenience to some players and parents, however with the amount of requests that come in it is nearly impossible to guarantee PROPER TEAM BALANCING and a smooth start to the season.
